Fulfillment Fund Honors Jeffrey Katzenberg At Stars 2001 Benefit Gala

November 8th 2001.

From the Fulfillment Fund website:

The Stars gala is the Fulfillment Fund's major, black-tie fundraising event of the year.

Each year, Stars honors a member of the Los Angeles community who has endeavored to make a difference in the lives of young people. Past honorees include Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff, Candy and Aaron Spelling, Rupert Murdoch, Edgar Bronfman, Jr. Robert Iger and Jeffrey Katzenberg. The event is professionally produced and is one of the most powerful, moving, and memorable events of the year.

Stars 2001
The Fulfillment Fund's Stars 2001, honoring DreamWorks SKG partner Jeffrey Katzenberg, was the opening event in the Grand Ballroom at the new Hollywood & Highland complex. Over 1,200 guests attended the star-studded November 8th gala. Contemporary Italian jeweler Bulgari and InStyle Magazine partnered with the Fund for the event which raised $2.5 million in support of our programs and students.

About Us
The Fulfillment Fund is a nonprofit organization providing nearly 3,000 economically disadvantaged students with the resources, tools and skills needed to obtain quality educations and lead productive, fulfilling lives. Our program is one of total enrichment with one-on-one mentoring, classroom based outreach, college counseling, college scholarships, internships, career counseling and a parent education component.

Mission Statement
The Fulfillment Fund is dedicated to supporting the education of students, some of whom have disabilities, who have been traditionally underserved by the public schools, and underrepresented in higher education.

Founded in 1977, the Fulfillment Fund's goal is to help students to graduate from high school and complete an advanced education. Comprehensive programs expose students to cultural and educational experiences that improve access to opportunities beyond their current reach.

Additional programs afford adult participants, including former Fulfillment Fund students, the opportunity to strengthen the broader community by "giving back" in order that future generations of young people might develop their individual gifts.
