'Silent No More' Campaign to Offer Prayerful Response to Abortion March

A pro-life group is planning a prayerful response to the upcoming abortion march in Washington on April 25.

The "March for Freedom of Choice" rally is scheduled to be conducted by The National Organization for Women, Feminist Majority, Planned Parenthood, and NARAL at the end of the month to show support for the controversial 1972 U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing abortion, Roe v. Wade.

The National Silent No More Awareness Campaign will allow participants who value life to show their support for that message by holding up signs and praying for abortion supporters who will be in the nation's capital.

The campaign will let women hold signs stating "I Regret My Abortion" and men displaying signs with "I Regret Lost Fatherhood" written on them. Other signs that will be used during the counter-protest include "Women deserve better than abortion" and simply "I'm Pro-life."

Representatives from the National Silent No More Awareness Campaign are already bracing for the reaction they will receive from the abortion activists.

On Sunday, April 25, the group will be meeting at the Holiday Inn in Washington in the morning to discuss the logistics of the counter-protest.

The campaign began as an effort to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. They believe the emotional, physical, and spiritual pain associated with abortion should be exposed to bring about truth and healing. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate abortion as a choice for women who are considering having one for birth control purposes.

Despite the enormous amount of promotion done by the abortion advocates, the "March for Freedom of Choice" event has been so unsuccessful at raising enough interest in pro-abortionists that they have decided to allow anti-war protesters and other anti-Bush groups to participate in the march.

In addition, more than 100 Hollywood celebrities have signed their name in support of the abortion rally and some will be there in person.

The entertainers who support the abortion march include Christina Aguilera, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Bacon, Alec Baldwin, Ted Turner, Cindy Crawford, Jane Fonda, Bea Arthur, Ed Asner, Amy Brenneman, Stockard Channing, Glenn Close, Sheryl Crow, Tyne Daly, Laura Dern, Ellen DeGeneres, Fran Drescher, Kirsten Dunst, Melissa Etheridge, Morgan Fairchild, and Calista Flockhart.

Others on the list are Janeane Garofalo, Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Harris, Salma Hayek, Marg Helgenberger, Helen Hunt, Natalie Maines, Ewan McGregor, Sarah McLachlan, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, Alanis Morissette, Susan Sarandon, Martin Sheen, Cybill Shepherd, Julia Stiles, Sharon Stone, Amber Tamblyn, Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman, Kathleen Turner, and Bradley Whitford, among many others.

Actress Helen Hunt said in a release that she supports the abortion march because, "The right to decide when or whether to have a child is a fundamental human right."

"West Wing" actor Bradley Whitford said he will be attending the abortion march because he believes in having the moral choice to decide what is best for a personal issue such as an unwanted pregnancy.

"My message to the politicians will be simple: Enough is enough," Whitford stated to LifeNews.com. "We have the right to make our own deeply felt, deeply moral decisions."

However, "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress Patricia Heaton says women should do "what is best for" themselves and their baby. This pro-life advocate said NARAL and Planned Parenthood are not the models for women to follow.

"Even though we are a very baby-friendly environment, I still think that there's a lot of feeling out there that [mothers have] second-class status in society," Heaton explained to LifeNews.com.

Also, supermodel Kathy Ireland says she is "liberal about the rights of the unborn child."

"I'm a person who always has and always will fight for the rights of women" and their unborn babies, Ireland revealed to LifeNews.com.

She said supporting the pro-choice position became impossible once she realized the fetus is actually a real human being.

"From the moment of conception, a new life comes into being with a complete genetic blueprint. The sex is determined. The blood type is determined. It doesn't start out as one species and suddenly become a human being," Ireland realized.

As previously reported by Talon News in February, conservative political action group RightMarch.com will also be conducting "the biggest counter-protest in history" at the abortion rally.

The counter-protest by RightMarch.com called "Operation Witness" will happen along the eight blocks from 15th Street to 7th Street along Pennsylvania Avenue, directly in the marching path of the abortion rally.
